New cancer support services for our patients

People with cancer across Cheshire can now get help to identify the welfare benefits to which they may be entitled to, and free, confidential, advice and support to help them return to work, thanks to a new partnership between The Macmillan Support and Information Service at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Age UK and The Shaw Trust.

The new services on offer from The Macmillan Support and Information Service include;

  • Appointment and drop-in benefits advice service with Age UK;
  • Access to the ‘Benefits Made Clear’ tool – an interactive guide that can help people affected by cancer find out what financial support they may be entitled to; and
  • The Shaw Trust Employment Service, helping cancer patients get back into work.
