AQuA orthopaedic specialists share good practice

Hospitals participating with Advancing Quality’s hip and knee data collection have been sharing examples of best practice at the latest Orthopaedic  Collaborative.

The group was welcomed by Steve Hodgson, AQ clinical lead and orthopaedic consultant at Royal Bolton Hospital, who gave an overview of some of the latest hip and knee data collection results as well as an update on the new measure developments.

The collaborative was then handed back to the AQ teams as project leads from Blackpool and Wyre Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust and Aintree University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust showcased storyboards on how AQ is working for them and sharing their examples of best practice.

Following the storyboards, the group welcomed guest speaker Bill Ryan, the North West representative from the Royal College of Surgeons, who spoke about training in trauma and orthopaedics.

All materials from the collaborative are available to download from Connect, AQ’s new online networking portal. To access Connect, visit
