Dystonia is often a lifelong condition, with persistent pain and disability. A large spectrum of drug, surgical and physical treatments are available for the treatment of dystonia but use of these in practice can be inconsistent. The latest BMJ Clinical Evidence systematic review highlights the evidence base for the treatment of dystonia and where further research is required.
