A HUGE thank you to all the artists who contributed to the Barnaby Art Festival at the weekend. Despite the rain on Friday there were plenty of admiring visitors to view some stunning photographs, weaving and paintings. In all, there were 62 pieces on view to the public but these are now back in the Library after a most successful exhibition.
As you can imagine, secure space here is limited so as pieces are now available for collection – please call in the staff library reception to claim your works.
There will be a further report on this item when the photographs are available.
The Barnaby Festival 2012 is almost upon us!
Carole Keeling from the Staff Library has been very busy this week cataloging all the fantastic art pieces due for display at Waters Green Medical Centre. She has been inundated with canvasses large and small, covering all sorts of themes from flowers to modern abstracts. At the last count there were over 60 pieces created by our obviously very talented East Cheshire Trust staff.
To see what’s on during the festival please visit http://www.barnabyfestival.org.uk/about-us – you’re sure to be impressed.
Do you have a passion for art?

35 separate art works including photographs, watercolours, oil on canvas, and pencil sketches now decorate the library from the ground to first floor. Visitors to yesterday’s Staff Library Art 2 exhibition were most impressed by the high standard and variety of work created by colleagues, finding it ‘stunning’ and ‘inspirational’.
Winner of the Prize Draw – Annette Murphy from the Macmillan Centre, was delighted to receive a £25 Amazon gift voucher.
The exhibition will continue until the end of April and is well worth a visit.
Don’t miss the official opening at 11:00am of the 2nd Staff Library Art Exhibition taking place upstairs in ‘Spirals’ on Tuesday 13 December.
Everything from cheetahs to chimps – sunsets to seagulls is on display until April next year and all done by talented members of staff or their relatives.
Calling all staff with hidden artistic talent!!
There is to be a 2nd Staff Library Art Exhibition on December 13th. If you would like to submit a piece for inclusion – a photograph, collage, watercolour or sketch, then please contact either Carole Keeling (ext 1547) or Angela Donnelly (ext 1362) for further information.
Members of staff, their friends and family who would like to submit works of art or photographs for display are invited to bring them to the library between Tuesday 22 November and Wednesday 7 December 2011. Accepted pieces must be framed and ready for hanging.
Barnaby Festival Success
Over 400 visitors ascended to the 4th floor of Waters Green as part of the 2 day Barnaby Festival celebrations and were treated to a colourful array of canvasses, contributed by staff from all areas of the service. An abundance of talent was on display in a wide variety of media – from cross-stitch to watercolour! The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive and most enthusiastic. Visitors were amazed by the range and depth of hidden talent and were surprised to see the “human” side to the professionals who they are more used to seeing in a clinical setting.
I would just like to say a huge “Thank you” to all the artists and helpers who took part – we couldn’t have done it without you. Special thanks to Craig Barker for doing such a great job hanging the pictures – a work of art in itself!
