NHS England launches new bid to beat cancer

informed_nhs_englandNHS England has announced a new independent taskforce to develop a five-year action plan for cancer services that will improve survival rates and save thousands of lives. The taskforce has been asked to deliver the vision set out in the NHS Five Year Forward View, which calls for action on better prevention, swifter diagnosis and better treatment, care and aftercare for all those diagnosed with cancer.

NHS England announces outcome of Cancer Drug Fund review

NHS England has published the outcome of a review of drugs included in its Cancer Drug Fund, to ensure that the drugs available to patients offer the best clinical benefit. It also announced that the fund’s budget will grow to an estimated £340 million from April 2015.
